CORPORATE CONTROLLER 



Position Summary:
The Controller provides leadership and coordination of the Company’s financial planning, cash flow, and budget management functions. Ensures Company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Directs capture, recording and reporting of the financial activities of the Company personally and through subordinate supervisors/employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities regularly performed and normally assigned to this position are as follows:
  1. Responsible for accounting month-end close including preparation of financial statements and reconciliations to G/L account and to budget. Preparation and entering of journal entries. li>
  2. Oversee Corporate Taxes (tax preparation is completed by 3rd party).
  3. Accounts Receivable function includes: Work with and assist the ADA accounting group and operational counterparts to prepare company billings; entering invoices and receipts; monitoring credit status; A/R collections; preparing bank deposits.
  4. Maintaining fixed asset schedules
  5. Assist ADA accounting group to complete Accounts Payable and other related activities
  6. Assisting in audits and special projects as needed
  7. Coordinating other activities with ADA Accounting team
  8. Monitor internal controls and corporate compliance – ACS will not report publically but should maintain SOX principals
  9. Develop Accounting team over time.

  • Hands on experience with month end closings
  • Accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll experience
  • In depth knowledge of fixed assets and depreciation
  • Ability to prepare GAAP basis financial statements and disclosures
  • Effective oral and written skills at all levels within and external to the Company
  • Ability to work both independently as well as on teams
  • Demonstrated experience building, managing and motivating teams
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
Education, Certificates and Licenses:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Revenue and related GAAP knowledge
Experience:
  • 10 to 12 years of general accounting experience
  • Mine accounting preferred
  • SEC and SOX auditing/compliance experience
  • Minimum of five years accounting supervisory experience
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient working knowledge of the MS Office Suite, Great Plains software and demonstrated ability to learn other software as necessary.
